Crypto: Binance Opens HYPE Spot Trading After Its $95 Record

Binance will open spot trading for Hyperliquid (HYPE) on September 24, making it available on one of the crypto market’s top-performing tokens in recent weeks. Trading will begin at 11:00 UTC on HYPE/USDT, HYPE/USDC and HYPE/TRY, while withdrawals are scheduled to open on Friday at the same time. The announcement comes as HYPE has just set several records above $95 and now has a market capitalization of around $21 billion.

The HYPE token enters a major spot trading platform after a sharp rise
HYPE’s arrival on Binance’s spot market significantly expands its distribution after its recent records.

Crypto: Binance finally opens HYPE spot trading

Hyperliquid had already reached an institutional milestone in early September when HYPE was added to the Nasdaq CME Crypto Index with a 3.36% weighting. The token is now adding Binance to its list of major distribution channels.

Binance’s official announcement confirms that spot trading will open at 11:00 UTC, or 1:00 p.m. in Goma and Lubumbashi. Three pairs will be available: HYPE/USDT, HYPE/USDC and HYPE/TRY. Algorithmic orders will be enabled at the same time, while trading bots and Spot Copy Trading are expected to follow within 24 hours. Withdrawals are scheduled for September 25 at 11:00 UTC. Binance also says it charged no listing fee, or 0 BNB.

HYPE will nevertheless receive Binance’s Seed Tag. This risk signal complements the enhanced monitoring mechanisms already applied by the exchange. The designation is reserved for assets considered newer and likely to display greater volatility and risk than the platform’s more established tokens.

Above all, the listing gives HYPE direct access to Binance’s immense spot market. For an asset that is already highly liquid, the impact is less about discovery than about expanding its distribution.

HYPE was already nearing $100

The timing matters. Contrary to what the immediate move following the announcement might suggest, HYPE’s rally had begun well before Binance.

The token reached approximately $95.17 on September 21, its third all-time high in one week. It was then up 18.5% over seven days, compared with 8.2% for Bitcoin. Catalysts included the development of new lending services on Hyperliquid and plans by Payward, Kraken’s parent company, to offer regulated exposure to HYPE contracts in the United States.

Bref Crypto was already tracking this rise before the records: in late August, a publicly listed company held 29.3 million HYPE, while the token was still trading around $85. A few days later, Hyperliquid joined Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP and Solana in a Nasdaq-CME institutional index.

Binance’s listing therefore arrives in an already overheated market.

Available data on September 24 put HYPE at around $92-$93 after it closed at $93.98 on Wednesday. Its market capitalization is around $20.9 billion, while daily volume exceeds $1 billion.

Not exactly a small token waiting for Binance to be discovered.

Binance brings liquidity, but also a new test

The question now is what this new liquidity will do once trading begins on Binance.

The $100 threshold is naturally in focus after records near $96. HYPE is trading in price discovery and therefore has few historical resistance levels above its previous highs. Conversely, the area around $90 is now an initial level watched by traders.

One element nevertheless deserves more attention than the next round number: supply.

Only around 26% of HYPE’s maximum supply was circulating during the recent record, or approximately 251.5 million tokens out of a maximum supply close to one billion. A large amount is therefore still expected to enter the market gradually. At the current price, the theoretical value of this locked supply amounts to tens of billions of dollars. This obviously does not mean it will be sold all at once, but dilution will remain a factor to monitor.

Hyperliquid has also already demonstrated its ability to attract considerable activity without Binance. The platform has become significant enough that more than $30 million in Bitcoin linked to Lazarus recently passed through Hyperliquid, an episode that also exposed the regulatory questions surrounding its permissionless finance.

Binance’s listing is therefore not the beginning of the HYPE story.

It primarily changes the scale of its distribution.

After the records, the Nasdaq-CME index and the gradual arrival of institutional investors, Hyperliquid now gains access to the spot market of the world’s largest crypto platform. The first test will begin at 11:00 UTC: determining whether this new demand is enough to bring HYPE back toward its high, or even toward $100, or whether holders will instead use the additional liquidity to take profits.
