Binance places four tokens under monitoring as delisting risk rises
Binance has added AVA, GNS, SCR and TOWNS to its Monitoring Tag. The four cryptocurrencies risk delisting if they no longer meet its criteria.

Binance is tightening its screening of altcoins. The exchange has placed AVA, Gains Network (GNS), Scroll (SCR) and Towns Protocol (TOWNS) under its Monitoring Tag. None of the four assets has been delisted for now. The message is nevertheless clear enough: their volatility and risk levels are now considered high enough to warrant increased scrutiny.
Crypto: four tokens enter the red zone
AVA, GNS, SCR and TOWNS are joining Binance’s list of closely monitored assets as of September 4. The new selection comes as Binance has already tightened its restrictions on several crypto services.
A Monitoring Tag is not a delisting announcement.
Binance uses it to flag tokens that, according to its assessments, display higher volatility and greater risks than other listed assets. They are then subject to periodic reviews.
The exchange monitors factors including trading volume and liquidity, development activity, the stability of the network or smart contracts, team engagement and any significant changes to tokenomics.
In its official announcement, Binance explicitly warns that the assets concerned may eventually fail to meet its listing criteria.
SCR and AVA are already reacting
Being placed under monitoring can itself weigh on the market. After the announcement, data displayed on Binance showed SCR down by around 10% and AVA under pressure.
That is hardly surprising.
A delisting from the world’s largest crypto exchange can remove a significant share of a token’s liquidity, make access more difficult and trigger precautionary selling. The shift by some investors away from altcoins already illustrates the far more selective environment taking shape.
Binance nevertheless specifies that other services involving AVA, GNS, SCR and TOWNS are not affected by the decision.
In other words, none of them has been condemned yet.
The projects may also be removed from the Monitoring Tag in a future review if they improve their metrics and once again meet Binance’s standards.
Binance Alpha has already removed 14 tokens
While these four assets are being monitored, Binance Alpha is going much further with 14 other tokens.
MTP, BDXN, TALE, BOS, MAIGA, TIMI, SAROS, U, SERAPH, RVV, AIAV, PENGUIN, ODOS and SN3 are being removed from its list of featured tokens on September 4 at 08:30 UTC.
Another important distinction: removal from Binance Alpha does not necessarily amount to a delisting from Binance’s main Spot market. Users can still sell or withdraw these assets after they are removed from Alpha.
This wave above all highlights how the lifespan of an altcoin on a major exchange is never guaranteed. Binance continuously reassesses liquidity, development, security and team conduct.
The crypto market is becoming more demanding at the same time: Remixpoint, for example, has just sold all its ETH, SOL, XRP and DOGE to concentrate its treasury on Bitcoin.
AVA, GNS, SCR and TOWNS are therefore not out yet. They have simply received the warning that many projects would rather never see appear.
