CZ remains deeply bullish on crypto
Changpeng Zhao has never really hidden his long-term bias. BrefCrypto recently noted that CZ now sees IPOs gradually moving onto the blockchain, suggesting that he views the ecosystem as financial infrastructure set to expand far beyond simple trading.
In late August, at Bitcoin Asia 2026, his remarks were even more ambitious, continuing the line of his public statements. CZ said that Bitcoin could become more important than gold and potentially surpass it in value during a future bull market. His reasoning was not based solely on price: he pointed to the arrival of governments, institutional reserves and new financial rails built around digital assets.
He remains much more cautious, however, when asked to date the move.
In a recent discussion focused on his former “supercycle” scenario, CZ acknowledged that he could not predict the future precisely. He nevertheless rejected the idea that market weakness would mean the end of crypto and maintained that a supercycle would eventually arrive, in his view.
That is where the famous “soon” gains its force on social media.
Not because it offers a new fundamental analysis, but because it arrives in a market already looking for an excuse to believe in the next upward leg.
The market already has a few arguments in its favor
The context is very different from that of the first half of the year.
Bitcoin has rebounded sharply from its summer lows, and the market has just gone through several months of rebuilding. Capital has also started flowing back into altcoins, although the latest corrections have shown that the rotation remains fragile.
CZ had already explained in June that weakness in the crypto market could notably be attributed to unusual competition with artificial intelligence for speculative capital. Some of the “hot money” had shifted toward AI stocks and infrastructure. He nevertheless viewed this rotation as temporary and potentially positive for crypto over the longer term.
Signs of a return are now emerging. Binance had already sent a strong signal by shifting its SAFU fund into Bitcoin.
Bitcoin ETFs, digital-asset stocks and several altcoins benefited from renewed interest during the rebound. At the same time, Binance continues to expand its products into tokenized stocks, pre-IPO assets and RWAs.
BrefCrypto had already observed how blockchain products are beginning to move closer to Wall Street directly. This convergence supports a broader thesis: the next crypto move could rely as much on institutional integration as on traditional speculation.
That does not mean a pump is starting tomorrow morning.
The market still faces major risks: high bond yields, US monetary policy, geopolitical tensions and substantial leverage in derivatives contracts.
A decline of just a few percentage points is still enough to trigger hundreds of millions of dollars in liquidations.
“Soon” is not a trading signal
CZ has a large enough audience for a single word to immediately trigger interpretations.
That is precisely why some distance is necessary.
A “soon” provides neither an entry point, an invalidation level nor a price target. It could refer to a Binance development, a regulatory change, a market event or simply continue CZ’s deliberately optimistic tone.
Viral posts generally go much further: “CZ knows something,” “pump imminent,” “get ready.” Nothing in the verifiable information reviewed supports that conclusion.
What can be established is simpler.
CZ believes crypto will continue to grow. He remains particularly optimistic about Bitcoin and BNB. He believes that stablecoins will play a major role in the integration of AI and crypto. And he still considers a much larger cycle possible.
The market, for its part, is significantly stronger than it was in the middle of the year.
That is probably why a single word is currently enough to trigger so much enthusiasm.
In a completely bearish market, “soon” would have been ignored. Today, it instantly becomes a bullish narrative.
That may be the most interesting signal of the entire story: not what CZ knows, but what investors are once again willing to hear.
