Bitcoin: Historic Signal Turns Green Again as Bull Run Draws Closer

Bitcoin’s weekly Supertrend has turned green above $81,000. This historically bullish signal still needs confirmation at the close.

Bitcoin breaks through a green weekly Supertrend signal still awaiting confirmation
Bitcoin’s weekly Supertrend turns green, but the candle’s close remains decisive.

Bitcoin’s weekly Supertrend has just turned green as BTC moves back above $81,000. According to analyst Crypto Rover, this signal preceded previous major bullish phases in the market. However, one detail makes it too early to celebrate: the weekly candle has not yet closed.

Bitcoin Turns the Supertrend Green

The shift comes after a spectacular acceleration. Bitcoin was still trading around $63,000 in early August before rising above $81,000. Bref Crypto was already tracking BTC’s return above $81,000 live, accompanied by significant liquidations of short positions.

Crypto Rover now says that the weekly Supertrend has turned green. Historically, he says, previous comparable shifts coincided with the start of Bitcoin’s major bull runs.

The Supertrend is fairly simple to understand. It primarily uses market volatility to draw a line above or below the price. When Bitcoin moves sustainably above it, the indicator considers the trend to have turned bullish.

Sustainably. That is precisely the important word here.

The Weekly Close Could Change Everything

Bitfinex had already been monitoring this shift for several days. In its technical analysis of the Supertrend, the exchange placed the weekly line at around $79,600 on Tuesday.

Bitcoin was then trading just below it. Since then, BTC has reclaimed $80,000 and then $81,000, temporarily breaking through this zone.

The Supertrend is therefore flashing green while the candle is still forming.

It is not yet confirmation.

If Bitcoin falls sharply before the weekly close, the indicator could change color again. The market had already attempted to break through this zone at the end of August before being rejected. The $82,000 zone also remains a significant resistance level.

The bulls have cleared a barrier. They now need to hold it.

Several Bitcoin Signals Turn Bullish

Bitcoin has also reclaimed its 21-, 55-, 100- and 200-day moving averages following its August rally. The next major technical resistance is around $82,793.

A sustained breakout would theoretically open the way toward $90,000. A fall back below $75,000–$72,000 would significantly weaken this scenario.

That fits with the fact that Bitcoin has already broken through a first historical anomaly with its August gain of nearly +25%.

The weekly Supertrend now adds another piece to the bullish scenario. It obviously does not guarantee any bull run, and its signals vary depending on the parameters used.

For now, Bitcoin has simply turned the light green. The weekly close will show whether it can actually move forward.
